Bio-engineered food ingredients

I have been seeing this on some of the foods I purchase. Can anyone offer up some information. What I have been reading is conflicting.

@mikaylar,
I am guilty of not reading food labels, but you sparked my interest.
"Bioengineered" is the official USDA term for a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) under the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard, so they refer to the same concept: foods produced from organisms whose DNA has been altered in a lab to have desirable traits.

Here are two trusted sources that help explain:
FDA: https://www.fda.gov/food/consumers/agricultural-biotechnology
USDA: https://www.ams.usda.gov/sites/default/files/media/BE_Consumer.pdf

Based on articles, they are safe to eat, though I am sure some people will have different opinions.

Are you concerned about eating food labeled "Bio-engineered" ?

Thanks for the info. Yes. I know fresh is always better but I can't always get it because I am homebound.

@mikaylar Have you tried delivery services for your groceries? They are pretty darn convenient for homebound people. Another trick is to order frozen veggies and fruits so things don’t spoil. If you have a favorite soup, you can add frozen vegetables to make it more filling/nutritious.
My opinion is that organic, non GMO is best, but that is a personal choice when available and affordable.

I do order from Walmart and I get Meals on Wheels. But, it's not like cooking your own food as you know. Thank you!
