Bilateral Medial Branch Block

Has anyone had experience with Bilateral Medial Branch Block for lower spine? I've had 2 sessions to find the right nerves. Next appointment is for block.

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Bones, Joints & Muscles Support Group.

At least for the Sprint PNS system IIRC they do 3 blocks. My first one was a medial branch block which apparently didn't provide enough pain relief. One of the other 2 might involve the cluneal nerve.

Yes, I had the 2 diagnostic branch blocks (which gave great relief for like a month each time) and 2 weeks ago had the ablation. I must have tough nerves because my pain level in recovery mode is off the charts: hard to move, hard to breathe. They say it takes 3 full weeks to achieve relief but GOOD GRIEF ! I had high hopes for pain relief. This could be just me, but I feel I am never going to be pain free...............

I was scheduled for the bilateral branch block but cancelled. I guess my pain is yet still tolerable. Scared to go through with it and it won't work. Going to try water aerobics instead.
