Big Post RARP Milestone For Me (Possible Trigger Warning)
I like to post my good news so people have it, this was a really big one for me.
My urologist put me on 5mg of Tadalafil 30 days prior to and 1 year post surgery as a safety precaution. It takes about 3 days to exit your system when you stop taking it. I stopped taking it a week ago and have had zero change in erection frequency, desire, firmness or ability to get my motor running at will.
So basically, in this department, with most of my nerves spared, I'm 100% of where I was pre-op. I never had a single second of issue to start with or during this process, but stuck to his recommendation out of abundance of caution.
It paid off.
With men suffering from post-treatment ED I hope this is not a trigger for you, because I truly empathize with what you are going through and I was very concerned of a similar outcome for me too. For those worried that ED is a guarantee, it is not, I am proof.

Thanks Survivor for posting and sharing your results. : ))) It is very important for future RARP patients to see positive outcomes .
This was no "trigger" of any kind for me and my husband - I do not understand why it would be for anybody else O-0 ....
We are very happy for you but we are also VERY happy with what we have. Who cares how intimacy happens (erections with help or no help or no erections at all, orgasms can be achieved many ways as well as erections). If people are in loving relationship there is nothing that will change that level of closeness and intimacy continues to thrive just in a different ways.
About 50% of men have ED after age 50 even though they had no surgery of any kind and they find the way to remedy that and live sexually active lives . Some young men use Viagra just as an enhancer so that they can "last" the whole night. Some men with ED will decide that it is not worth all of that hustle and would still be happy and live active lives the way it suits them which is fantastic too. : )))
Bottom line - congrats, but I hope that men who need some help understand that recovery takes time and that it is absolutely possible to overcome ED "this or that way" if you really want to (inclooding implants).
Yes - for a few erections will happen immediately and /or will happen with no need for mads but for majority it will take some time and I am saying this just so new members know and do not get into desperation mode if they do not have erections while lying in a hospital bed a day after RARP.
If I learned anything here is that men are very competitive in general and if the given "example" is with high scores they think that they are failing somehow and than get into panic mode for no reason : (((. DON'T do it !!! Be patient and be YOU and happy with yourself whatever rocks your boat < 3.

5 Reactionscongrats! I'm 8 weeks post-op and it's all working exactly the same as before (well, it is dry). Incontinence is an issue for me but getting better. So, second your advice to others considering the pros and cons.

2 ReactionsHappy for you. I am unfortunately still not there. No usable erections even with 20ml Cialis 8 months post RARO. My nerve sparing was supposedly over 85% on each side.
