Below normal level of Immunoglobulin M

Posted by njnana @njnana, Sep 21, 2019

Curious if anyone has had lab results showing a much lower than normal level of Immunoglobulin M with all other levels at a normal amount. My doctor did not seem concerned, but because my levels have been at the norm for 2 years, my concern is high.

@njnana I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you to be concerned but just a "shoulder shrug" from your doctor! Since you apparently are get blood tests done that include getting these values, are you comfortable sharing what conditions you are getting the bloodwork for? Have you discussed with him how that value correlates with other values in the testing?

Immunoglobulin levels below 1000 will make you more susceptible to infections, respiratory and others. Many of us get infusions to combat this, and stayhealthy during treatment.
