Beginning ADT and PSA tests

Posted by hanscasteels @hanscasteels, Jan 23 6:20pm

I had my first double dose of firmagon beginning January . I am scheduled for HDR brachytherapy on Feb 25, followed with a dessert of EBRT. When would a first follow-up PSA test be useful? My last PSA reading was 25, and was back in October.

I need to check what this hospital is administering. I checked their website and it states they use IMRT for prostate tumors. I need to confirm. I am assuming that they’re going “all the way” due to cribriform cells, and hence, increased aggressiveness

These days, the ideal combination is to get SBRT to the prostate and IMRT for the prostate bed. That reduces the total number of IMRT radiation sessions you need to attend. Do they have SBRT at that hospital?

I think You are in Canada so options can be more limited, but some places do have SBRT.

I know you have been around for a while, but all of your medical information was in previous conversations. Makes it difficult to be more specific. If you do have cribriform then your cancer is definitely more aggressive, so you want to get really good advice on what to do.
