I was diagnosed last year with abdomen pains. Had cat scan done and was told by a GI doctor I had mesenteric panniculitis. I still don’t know what caused it. I do have eczema and diverticulosis. I didn’t ask my doctor if he thought if either of these conditions can be the cause.

Good Evening, thank you so much on the web site of sclerosing. I can’t get enough information.
I will be coming soon to Mayo clinic in Rochester.
I am a mom of one of the peds kids with it . . and aggressive unfortunately. Inpatient frequently, severe malnutrition. We have a group of 57 of us in a private group with SM and MP . . . very supportive and discuss everything and questions welcome, etc. Sharing treatments, suggestions, and ALL degrees and stages of SM in there. We’ve had a couple recent deaths from SM in our group. There is another who has been inpatient since diagnosis in April. Another diagnosed in January and spent Jan-April inpatient with a 100# weight loss. We have a diverse group if interested.
She was diagnosed in 2008 . . . age 14.
and yes pathology was done when they had her open on the table . . . sent to 4 pathology sites with the same diagnosis. Thru Children’s in OKC, St. Louis, Vanderbilt and Salt Lake . . . she’s still alive . . but the outcome isn’t good.
