Autoimmune diseases and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)
Wondering if anyone with autoimmune diseases has had any experience with and or insight in testosterone replacement therapy? I’ve read that it could be beneficial but I also understand there are risks. I’m a 62 year old male.
Thanks in advance.

My brother takes it. I don’t know much about it. Maybe, someone who has info will chime in.
70 yr old male with Celiac on TRT for 15 years with no ill effects. Of course, my dose only raises my T to where it should otherwise be. I imagine juicing (increasing T to a much higher level) increases risk significantly.
You might ask your doctor to check testosterone and DHEA levels at the lab. Both decline in middle age.
DHEA is a pro hormone generator of testosterone.
It is often low in autoimmune inflammatory conditions.
DHEA is helpful in conditions of diminished adrenal reserve. Best to avoid over supplementation of either
hormone.
If a testicle is removed, is testosterone therapy warranted ?
Thank you for your feedback.
I’ve read that in some studies TRT can actually ease the symptoms and reduce the flare ups in some autoimmune diseases including RA (which is what I have) because of the muscle and bone growth that testosterone can help with and also help with the fatigue and brain fog that comes with the flare ups.
Would you have any knowledge or insight on this?
