Ascites how to support spouse during this time
My wife has been battling with pancreatic cancer for three years now, she had the Whipple one and a half years ago and they did not remove the entire tumor, it is attached to the MSA. She said to colonoscopies where they repaired a total of five lesions and immediately after the second colonoscopy, she started showing a descended stomach and gained close to 20 pounds within one week. We recently went did you get it drained and they drained 4 L of fluid out of her stomach but she’s still descendent.. We are going to get a PET to see any metabolic activity in the assumption. Is that it spread, been on chemo for over three years and it’s been maintaining the tumor and a normal size for the last 2 1/2, but following our colonoscopy to two more starting to grow. All the her stomach has reduced. She’s still in some pain, she’s starting to show signs of edema and one for her feet and she is clinically depressed. She is only 59. Looking for encouragement words of advice on how to manage my wife’s mental condition as things start moving in the wrong direction.

Hi this is Kim, my husband Mike has been on this road for about 3 years too. We thought we had it beat because his tumor was in the tail of the pancreas and after 6 months of 5FU chemo they removed all the tumor, but 20 months later another tumor was found in the wall of his stomach. Now he is on Abraxane / Gemcitabane every other week. It is hard, he is sick half the time and dealing with alot of nausea, he has lost weight and appetite. He was struggling with memory issues which is still a problem but he is doing a little better with Lion's Mane mushroom supplements. He just turned 69. His CA 19-9 is rising again so Oncology is doing another MRI soon, the cancer may of spread or he might have another problem. We just take one day at a time. Try to enjoy time with friends and family. He has a lot of faith and believes in the power of prayer. Sending hugs. Kim and mike
