Just wondering if anyone has heard of any new brain fog treatments.

I am taking a supplement, Magnesium L Threonate that is targeting brain fog. Seems to have helped me. May or may not qualify as new to you.

I don't have brain fog, but the palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) supplement was recommended for a member of our Facebook group who did. The recommendation came from a famous Danish physician with expertise in chronic fatigue and vaccine injuries. There is good research support that PEA reduces neuroinflammation. It is a supplement, not a drug, so the benefit is subtle and accrues over time. It has a good safety profile.

I hate to sound gooey.... but I'm just telling you what helped me. I avoid being mentally overstimulated. Fighting, becoming overly worked up, positive and negative. I notice that when I do, I lose convo threads and words. After one of the (inevitable! ) upticks, I make me rest my brain. I truly have only found this to be helpful. I'm on B12 injections for fatigue, but brain fog is a different monster altogether, at least it is in my experience. Anyway, that's just me.

Brain fog is my most debilitating symptom. Careful energy conservation including mental ( cognitive and emotional), reducing light/sound. TOPIRAMATE has helped so much! Cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness to function. I take probably a dozen+ supplements and have tried many Rxs, one at a time, to know what works. I continue with all the supplements, just in case.... Also Trazodone for me to help with anxiety and sleeping very important. Im also getting cranial sacral and acupuncture which I find makes me feel temporarily better but probably because it is soothing to my nervous system to lie in a dim room for an hour with a relaxed mind. : ). BTW I'm an occupational therapist, teach energy conservation, mindfulness and use CBT clinically. There is such a fine line between rest and rehabilitation. Each time I cross it, as in overdo, I'm down for 3-4 weeks. And of course, that line moves. I've come to look at it with curiosity, systematically. This mindshift brought me back from a very difficult place. Instead of, I'm back at the bottom again, it's now hmm, that's interesting, what factors precipitated this?, Now I know a little better for next time...
For Cognitive exercise, I read. It helps my visual attention. I started with simple puzzles, and children's books. I would write simple questions for memory. Brain HQ is a program I used pre illness. I recommend it. I've started simple sewing. Bringing back things I enjoy one at a time, in baby steps to stimulate my brain for executive function practice. But total rest as needed.
I've been unable to work since January, but hoping to start 4 hrs per week in September, with lots of accomodations. I'm hoping it will help my cognitive function. We'll see... : )

I had the worst of my brain fog several months after a Covid infection in January 2021. At that time I’d be okay in the morning but would go into full dementia starting 12 noon-1 pm each day. The two things which immediately snapped me out of these episodes of dementia were completely stopping intake of coffee and use of Ayurvedic supplement Chyavanprash, which I smeared on toast each morning. I can occasionally drink one cup of coffee, but if I go over that limit the brain fog comes back. I also started taking double doses of antihistamines Cetirizine and Famotidine at that time.

Try B6 100mg/day (no more). I find it helps with mood, which may help with memory.

I have had memory issues due to covid for 3.5 years. My first covid symptom was memory loss. My memory was imperfect but stable over the next few years, but by December 2022 my memory and other symptoms hit a crisis. The earliest appointment I could get with a neurologist for my memory was 6 months away! I finally got to see the neurologist in June for my memory issues. Two days later, I was at my desk, working remotely from home, and I had a tonic clonic seizure (first seizure ever). I was taken to the ER where I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and put on anti seizure meds (Keppra). Keppra had awful side effects, including severe depression, so I don’t recommend it. I started the B6 to counter the mood effects of the Keppra, and within an hour of taking B6 my mood was almost back to normal.

I don’t know if it is the B6 or the anti seizure meds, but ironically, my memory is significantly improved since my seizure! My memory is now close to normal, the best it has been since covid.

I credit the B6 with helping my memory, but you never know - it could be the Keppra. I have seen research that 1 in 100 Covid patients may go on to develop seizures or epilepsy. Epilepsy also includes cognition/memory issues, so there appears on surface anyway some overlap of symptoms. My neurologist happens to specialize in epilepsy and memory. Frustrating, but there is still a lot we do not know about covid.

I started taking adderall extended release for my focus and fog and it’s been a game changer. I don’t take it on days that I can relax and don’t need to be on my game but for work or busy days it has helped me be able to function at a basic and normal expectation.
I would literally be busy all day and not get anything done and feel like I was losing time. I couldn’t account for how I was doing things non stop but not actually doing anything productive…. It was a huge weight on my shoulders.
I feel so much better now and in control and I don’t have to take something every day to accomplish it

I’m sure there’s a lot we don’t know about COVID but what we do know …it is a terrible virus that causes all kinds of problems! I am trying just about everything out there to try and get back to pre-COVID which was Dec.2020. Think I am making progress..Physical and respiratory therapy seems to help and also LDN and methylene blue along with lots of vitamins, minerals, etc.
Praying for all Long COVID people!
