Are hearing aids compatible with tubes in ears?

Have you considered prescriptive hearing aids? Have you been tested by a licensed hearing healthcare professional like an audiologist? It's important to get accurate test results before seeking any kind of hearing aid help.

OTC are only helpful to people with mild to moderate hearing loss. They don't do much more than amplify sound in most instances.

Prescriptive aids are expensive, but you get what you pay for in most instances. You might want to check out a big box store like Costco or Sam's Club. Their products are prescriptive. They test you thoroughly to identify your type an degree of hearing loss. They also allow a substantially longer trial period which makes it possible to test the products in all environments where you want/need to hear. If they don't work well for you they can be returned.

@julieo4 Thanks for the advice. Yes, I have been tested by an audiologist and saw an ENT specialist on Monday for issues with my right ear. I ordered in-ear Audien hearing aids, which are rated #1 or #2 on every site I looked at, but haven't received them yet. They give a 45 day trial period so I figured it was better to try a cheaper option to begin with and go from there. After the doctor said he may put a tube in my right ear, I started wondering if that would be a problem with in-ear hearing aids. I didn't think to ask him when I was at the office but just sent a message to his office to get his opinion on it. I told him I had ordered OTC aids and he seemed to be fine with it, I had just forgotten to tell him they were the in-ear type.

My doctor responded back that an in ear hearing aid will not adversely affect a tube in the ear. I’d like to close discussion on this topic and will no longer be notified of any further comments.

Your ENT should be able to answer that question easily…,
