Anyone with kidney transplant, post-radical cystectomy that has chemo?

Posted by tle187 @tle187, Oct 1, 2023

HI, Had kidney transplant in 1992, still going strong. Diagnosed with squamous cell muscle-invasive cancer of bladder in July 2022. Had radical cystectomy, hysterectomy and ileal conduit. Diagnosed in September 2023 with regional reu=current cancer, two tumours. Require chemo now, but they have chosen Carboplatin and Gemcitabine and not Cisplatin.

Anyone been through this and anyone changed chemo if this did not respond adequately? How is your transplant? Did cancer respond to this treatment?

I am female, 54 yrs of age.
