Anyone with early anal cancer have partial response at 3 months?

Hi.
I have early T2N0 stage anal canal cancer. At my 3 month scan it has appeared to have shrunk from 2.2 centimeters to 1 centimeter and from on the circumference from 9oclock to 12 oclock to 9 to 10 so about 2/3rds. The pet suv went from 5.9 to noted as faint. The radiologist called it as partial response likely residual tumor. I am of course disappointed as with what was deemed a small early tumor I had hoped (and statistically expected) it would have shown complete response. My question is has anyone had this experience and did it go on to complete response. Also did your drs have any input or advice or insight/opinions as to the prognosis? Thanks for any and all input

@apinzonc0627 hello thank you for replying. May I ask did you have anal cancer and if so what prompted you to go straight to surgery? Thank you!

@nycmusic thank you for the encouragement. May I ask was yours an anal cancer? In my case (anal cancer) there is a fairly tight protocol no addition meds or radiation sadly the only next step is radical surgery. If you had additional meds for anal cancer I would be curious about that? Thank you

@juliem25 , like @nycmusic, I see the partial response as a positive. It's a step in the right direction.

With this partial response, will you be continuing treatment? Did the partial response reduce the tumor to help get clear margins with surgery? What is the next step for you?
