I gained 6 pounds during my year on Evenity. I had my last dose on April 10th. My weight starting coming down during the last month I was on it and I have returned to within 2 pounds of my starting weight. Hoping the last couple of pounds come off now that I’m finished.
The 6 pounds were added during the first 4 months and stayed through months 5 to 11.

3 ReactionsWeight has always been a problem for me and I I have to work hard to stay thin, but with watching what I eat and eating healthy plus a lot of exercise I have managed to do so. I did not gain any weight during Evenity or Prolia

2 ReactionsI have gained some weight while on Evenity, but other life stuff is also happening so I don't know if I'm eating more (and eating more stuff that isn't great for me) because of the Evenity or the stress!

1 ReactionI just started taking Evenity and feel very anxious about the serious side effects and also I do not wish to put on weight.
I had my first injection of Evenity on March 26 of this year. My most troubling side effects were extreme fatigue, GI problems, and peripheral neuropathy. Lesser side effects were headaches, pain in hips and breasts.
As far as weight gain, I noticed about one month after that first shot I began to feel more bloated and thick around the middle. I also noticed that some of my pants were getting tighter. But when I get on the scale, there is only about a 1-2 pound difference than when I started Evenity. But I have also noticed that my breasts have gotten bigger, which seems strange to me. I wonder if the Evenity can mess with female hormones?
I have always been thin, and have at times had a problem keeping weight on after going through some serious health problems in my 40's and 50's. So a few pounds do not bother me; but after reading oopsie daisy's post, I wonder how long the weight will take to go away.
I have not received a second dose, which was supposed to take place May 5, until my doctor determines if my side effects are too much to ignore.
I had a year of Evenity followed by Reclast and I did not gain weight. I had fabulous results!
Best wishes in your journey.

2 Reactions@kallettla thanks. Are you still on Reclast? I'm almost done with Evenity and am deciding between Prolia and Reclast.
I did my first round of evenity in 2021 and did not gain weight. I’m 2 months into my 2nd round - no weight gain. Carry on! You’ve got this.
I’m almost back to my starting weight.
Here’s a graph of my weight during my Evenity treatment period:
Note: I started taking hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic) in March due to hypercalciuria. I suspect my weight gain might be attributed to water retention.
@debhatchell Reclast is once a year. I may have one more year of it. The first time I didn't feel well for a couple of days afterwards. You need to drink a lot of water and I also took zyrtec and I think it was Tylenol. I forget if it was Tylenol or Ibuprofen one is supposed to work better than the other. The second infusion I felt pretty well. Just tired, but it lasted only 24 hours. I am allergic to so many medications, I was very happy I did well with it.
