Anyone using Prednisone for ear pressure?

I am an 83 year old male with severe ear and sinus pressure. ENTs cannot find a reason. Blame it on Tempormandibular problems even after my dentist says it is not. They discount Auto immune ear disease as hearing loss was not rapid. Prednisone is suggested as a trial to see if it helps. They refuse to try it. I had Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Was on it with a dose of around 80 mg to start, tapering off over 2 years with no problems about 5 years ago. Cannot use NSAIDS Polycystic Kidney Disease.
