Anyone taking Skyrizi for Crohn's disease?

Posted by pgcwash @pgcwash, Feb 28 10:47pm

I’m taking skyrizi for Crohn’s disease, but I also take 1 mg of colestipol
4 times a day to control diarrhea. Anyone else taking anything along with Skyrizi for diarrhea?

Would like to know what type of different biological med's people are using for Crohn's and likes and dislikes of them.
I have been on Skyrizi for about 2 years and seemed to be controlling many symptoms of crohn's until about 3 months ago.
Thanks

@jer22, I moved this discussion to the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Support Group and am tagging other members like @nosweat @immissamy @bbmayo @tm27, who have mentioned taking Skyrizi (risankizumab-rzaa) for Crohn's disease.

Jer, it sounds like the medication was working well for you until it didn't. What is being suggested by your GI doctor?

@jer22 I was on Entyvio for approximately 5 years, and it worked great. Then for some reason after 5 years I started having flairs then had a small bowel obstruction. I was fine for 5 years. I did not develop antibodies to Entyvio. After a course of steroids, I was put on Stelara. During the almost 2 years I was on it, my immune system was severely compromised. Within 18 months I had Influenza A followed closely by bibasilar pneumonia and almost becoming septic. Then I developed pneumonia again in the right base. Right now I’m in remission, praise The Lord, and not taking any Crohn’s meds.

@skypledger
Very interesting, Glad you are in remission.
I have been on Skyrizi for about 2 years and seems like after every 2 month injection I feel more nausea, aches, and just general tiredness for several days.
Although all tests seem to show no changes
I do think after awhile on meds they seem to not work as well ? --just my opinion.
Again thanks

@colleenyoung
Hi again Colleen, The GI Dr. has been trying different test to see if it could be something different causing some of my issues, The tests he has run all show I have no concerning issues.
He was going to look into if symptoms could be the Skyrizi.
Thanks
