I have an over active/undearactive bladder. All tests have been done to rule out spinal issue . Was put on Gemtessa worked like a miracle!!! UTI took antibiotics cleared up. Gemtessa worked like magic again here we are about three weeks out and symptoms of UTI appear. What other things have you used?(

Would you tell me the name of that book, please? I don't mind slog reading! The med is Myrbetriq or Mirabegron extended-release tablets. I do not have UTI problems, probably due to drinking a lot of water on purpose. Daily at least once I mix in D-Mannose in one mug.

Sorry to hear the meds aren't working yet. I have sensitive bladder rather than incontinence so I can say for me it eliminates my daytime feelings of having to find a toilet...I can go out all day and be fine. However, at night I get up 3 times so maybe its about being prone in bed.
As to the post polio, we live in St. Simon's Island, GA. I think maybe my sister is a little better but she works so hard at her mobility! She swims and does pilates as much as she's able. She uses a cane and has an ankle brace and that gets her around the house and short spurts. Other wise its scooter or walker. She has back pain and I think gets shots a few times a year. I don't believe she has bladder issues from polio. Who is your physiatrist, I'm not familiar with that type of dr.

Incontinence is a troublesome issue. UTI’s are also. It is even worse when they are happening concurrently. There is a book available from Mayo Clinic Press about incontinence. It explains about all the different types of incontinence. There’s some information about the causes and a bit about various treatments. It is a bit of a slog reading it but is very informative.
The comments here remind me of my mother. She had severe arthritis; spinal, hip and knee issues plus a constant battle with incontinence. She never had UTI’s. She swore by consuming copious amounts of water, chiropractic providers and prescription strength pain killers. There was never any other medication recommended for her.
Is this med Mybetriq / Myrbetriq (sp?) primarily for incontinence or UTI?
