Anyone stopped treatment kadcyla for her2*?

Posted by zeerj @zeerj, Jul 11, 2023

Had 10 of 14. Dr stopped it now due to lungs issues. Anyone had issues along in treatments and all is well? Did you go on pills for her2+?

I had 13/14 treatments when my liver enzyme counts were too high to safely continue. That was almost a year ago (Aug 21) So far so good.

Thank you! Can you share what follow ups you do and how often? Are you on any pills now?

year 1 and 2: every 3-6 months to visit with the doctor in each discipline; annual mamogran (I still have my right breast); and lab work at the discretion of my oncologist.
years 3-5 every 6 months to visit with oncologist, mammogram and labs at the discretion of the oncologist.
In addition to the above (what I think is typical follow-up), I've had my liver function tested and a CT scan in March. All clear!
I am not in any treatment at this time. My cancer was HER 2 only. So there is no medication for my doctor to recommend.

Hello!
I had 11 of 14 and stopped due to internal infections. 12/22.
I finally had full reconstruction 5/8/23.
Healed fast and doing follow up every 3 months year 1-2 and 6 month year 3-5. I feel strong and my “new normal” is feeling fantastic and I am comfortable knowing I went 11/14 rounds.
No worries for me and I was HER2+ stage 3

Hello @auntieoakley, feeling better. Taking medication for pneumonia and Valley fever. I meet with oncologist again to. August and will let me know if any pills I might be on. In the meantime, she believes Kadcyla is triggering my pneumonia (2nd time) thus stopped at #10.

I am sorry to hear you haven’t been able to finish this cycle of treatments. I am hopeful that they will come up with a better plan.🤞🙏
