Anyone Overcome ED After Losing Half of the Nerves?

Posted by survivor5280 @survivor5280, Dec 11, 2024

That's my news today after my pre-op MRI, I'm losing half my nerves. The doctor says it's possible to overcome ED but I feel as though I've already lost half the battle.

I'm utterly devastated.

Prior to prostate cancer, I had ED that was treated with Viagra. Then I had radiation therapy and the pills stopped working. I am now experimenting with Trimix, but haven’t yet found the right dosing. My urologist specifically said not to use Viagra with Trimix, but I see people here and elsewhere talking about doing exactly that. I’d appreciate any feedback from those who have knowledge, or experience, with combining these two therapies. Thanks in advance.

If you mix the two you run the risk of priapism. IF you try it, have claritin available and if that does not work, call the ER.

I lost 25% of my nerves and had my RP at age 68. Dr prescribed 20mg of cialis at night for nocturnal erections. It works and the erections help the nerves heal. I can achieve an erection but not enough for penetration. Trimix does the trick for that. Talk with your urologist and find the pod cast The Penis Project, excellent intell on ED.

I believe you read my post on another thread as I too lost a nerve bundle. No need to be devastated, stay active up to the surgery and plan on being active as soon as you are released to do so post op. It may work, it may not and along the way you might experience great and less less than enjoyable events BUT keep trying. That is the only mindset while hoping for the best outcome while expecting to experience the joys of Trimix to aid you back to a regular sex life. Sarcasm and a willingness to make fun of yourself along the way carries real positive energy through the process. And if you have kids, don't be afraid to share with them you're urinating via the catheter while talking to them. THAT brought much laughter to a challenging time...

You’re not alone but that doesn’t make either of us feel any better

I disagree a bit with that statement. It's very hard to find positive nuggets amongst the piles and piles of negativity regarding this disease and the quality of life. I'll take every success story, every little nugget of hope that I can glean from anywhere.
