Anyone on both full HRT and Prolia simultaneously?

Wish I had taken HRT twenty years ago but was discouraged because of breast cancer risks. Now I’m 70 and have heard about all the benefits of HRT. I was told it’s not too late to start HRT. However I wonder about its interaction with Prolia which I’ve been on for twelve years with two remaining. TIA

I am on bhrt: estradiol/testosterone pellet, estradiol vaginal cream and progesterone. I am on Prolia now. Are you saying that you have 2 years left on Prolia? If so, what will you follow it with to avoid rebound?

Thank you! I don’t know what I’ll do after two years. I’m starting my research now. Of course, I’ll listen to my doctor’s recommendations. Forego and Prolia have helped my bones immensely. Upped my walking and strength training too

@cavlover

Have you and your physician discussed the anabolic osteoporosis drugs?

REPLY

No, we haven’t. I’m not familiar with them.

@gravity3 , may I ask how old you are, when you started bhrt, and which doctor prescribed it?? I'm 69 and just coming off Forteo and now have high cholesterol. I'm getting push back from all my doctors.

@leeosteo

I started last year at 76. I used a functional medicine provider.

I’d going to ask my doctor about going on HRT to counteract my menopausal weight gain in my belly, osteoporosis and high cholesterol . I’m almost 74 and currently on Tymlos for 8 more months but the weight gain of 15 pounds over the last 3 years from being sedentary from multiple spine surgeries has me very discouraged. Would you please share your experiences with HRT?
