I have for over 30 years along with Wellbutrin. I even added Klonopin taking 1mg in the morning and 1mg at bedtime. This might be controversial but I have never abused it or increased my dosage.
I have in fact cut my Zoloft from 100mg to 50 mg with no adverse effects.

Thanks for the “Like” and good luck to you. I hope my posts help you and anyone else on this site.
Depression is a terrible disease but with the right treatment it can be controlled and anyone that has it can live a meaningful and productive life.
The stigma regarding it is finally lifting as more and more people are telling their stories of their struggles with it. These people are actors and actresses along with highly successful sports figures. They are also very successful business leaders.
There is hope once you realize that depression is a disease just like diabetes and can be treated.
Good luck to everyone out there. You are not alone and there are ways to treat this insidious disease.

Zoloft was the worst medication I’ve ever taken! I felt like I needed to crawl up into a ball! It made me crazy! Needless to say I got off of it as quick as I could! Happy for those it has helped! God bless!

Me too. Zoloft gave me panic attacks starting the 3rd day. That was my first experience with panic attacks. I was starting Zoloft for anxiety. The NP said never heard of that side effect and to keep taking daily for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks I absolutely refused to live with panic attacks and discontinued Zoloft. Never had another panic attack. Providers have to stop telling patients that since they never heard of a side effect it isn't valid. They refuse to see the obvious in some situations. Panic attacks are not a side effect that you can get used to in 3 weeks.

Thanks for the reply back. I take Klonopin .25 in the morning and night. My issue is I wake up with tremors and sweating. I was on Lexapro for 10 years with no issues until recently, so my Doc changed me to Zoloft.

I have been taking zoloft since the mid 1990s. They started me on a low dose. It did take several weeks for it to be effective. I have periodically tapered off and resumed it. I have had no side effects. I am currently taking 150 mg/day with no problems. If has been a life saver for me.

If this post is mostly to tell the group about our experience with Zoloft then I’m in the right place but I’m not sure if I’m posting in the correct way.
I just post in the open space at the bottom of the page. No one seems to respond to what I write lately.
Every sari seems to come with info suggesting that one may not experience changes for two weeks. Every ssri the docs want me to try results in ER trips or my isolating myself until the effect goes away; sometimes it take days.
Every one affects my body temp: my fingers and toes get ice cold. I shiver and my teeth chatter. Paxil was the only one that didn’t send me to the ER so my shrink begged me to stay on it for two weeks. I sat in the summer sun in Florida for that whole time wearing sweatpants gloves heavy Sox and a scarf. I couldn’t leave the house, I didn’t eat and sleep was a trip to a strange place that wasn’t anything like sleep. After two weeks she told me to stop taking it but it took days or maybe weeks til my body temp got close to normal again. I lost 24 lbs.
My Dad took Xoloft and LOVED IT! My therapist thought that maybe having similar genes Zoloft would work for me. But like most of the other SSRI’s it affected my body temp, sleep and eating habits. But the one difference was dreading the thought of anyone looking at me the wrong way: I felt that hid forbid that someone gave me the finger I would kill them. I locked myself in my house with blinds closed wouldn’t answer the phone or the door and it took about 3 days til I was close to normal. Now my medical records have Zoloft listed as a medication that I’m allergic to. Where it asks what happens it says: becomes homicidal.
Med professionals still insist that it doesn’t make sense that it affects me within 45 minutes of taking it.
As pro SSRI that most of my shrinks are they went ballistic on me recently when the whole establishment went psycho about benzo’s and simply cut me off from the only medication that eased my anxiety. I had to find an “ outside psychiatrist who went to bat for me and told me the VA had every possible person at the local VA call her that same day to try to talk her out of writing clonazepam for me.
It’s a life saver for me and others who don’t want to be around me if anxiety Moros into depression.
The medical establishment is broken printing out a scroll size document with possible side effects for every drug they send me but don’t believe the side effects that may harm me or others.

I think you will really like Zoloft. Wellbutrin is a great drug to add along with Buspar.
Good luck to you.
