Anyone have experience with the insoles that you mold by heating up?

I'm wearing a brace to aid with my foot drop, a condition that's been linked to my neuropathy. My orthotist recommended avoiding custom-made insoles but buying a pair that you can heat up at home in order to mold them to your feet. I've seen them on sale at drugstores but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience--good or bad--with a particular brand.
