Hello @nana39 While we’re waiting for other members to reply, I did find discussion regarding eosinophilia, but not in relation to also having low platelet counts with thrombocytopenia.
Could you tell me a little more about your condition and how it was diagnosis? What were your symptoms?

My symptoms.. bruising..weariness.. heavy breathing after a walk.
Low platelets = 70
High eosinophils % 8.7
eosinophils # 0.5
I have not seen a hematologist yet.
These are results from blood tests

Hi @nana39. Weariness isn’t a word I see often but it surely is descriptive. I’m so sorry you’re feeling that sense of tiredness. Our immune systems are powerful in protecting us but when there is something going on in our body to cause an upset it can leave us feeling pretty crumby.

Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell produced in the bone marrow. They’re part of the body’s immune system that gets launched to defend against things like bacteria and parasites. They can also act incorrectly causing allergies and other inflammatory reactions in the body or be part of the immune response to some types of cancer.

Your platelet level of 70, means there are about 70,000 cells per microliter. Healthy levels generally fall between 150,000 and 450,000 you’re getting on the low side. You’re already experiencing bruising and will have to be cautious not to cut yourself.

All of these cells are produced in the bone marrow so your hematologist may want to check to make sure it’s working correctly in producing healthy cells.

Were your red blood counts and other white blood cells in the normal range?
You mentioned not seeing a hematologist (doctor specializing in blood disorders) yet. Who diagnosed your eosinophilia thrombocytopenia?
