Anyone have a bad experience with Megestrol for hot flashes? Help!

Man that stuff doesnt agree with me at all..side effects = rash on forearms, gas and bloating ( increased appetite) muscle aches and prob more..
I was taking 20mg once a day- it did seem to work on hot flashes some but damn, the side effects are awful..stopped last night..

Anything I can take oTC to help flush that crap out of me!! ( these side effects have come on inpast week- I have been taking the stuff about 2 weeks)

Uh, that is tough - I am so sorry to hear that you have such intense reaction to progestin hormone.

Unfortunately there is nothing that you can do to flush it out BUT maybe try drinking soy-milk since it has estrogenic effect and perhaps it will oppose and balance progestin ? Also, try liver detox since all hormones go through liver - eliminate alcohol and hydrate well and you may try taking milk thistle or artichoke supplement for couple of weeks to stimulate liver cleanse.

Hope this will help, if not, time definitely should.
