Anyone experienced low-grade headaches as they ended the tapering?

I've had PMR for a year. Started prednisone in January tapering up from 1 to 8 mg. My side effects were horrendous so I started tapering off in March. I'm now at .5 daily and having low grade headaches most days. Anybody else had this happen? Thanks.

I just finished taking prednisone to treat GCA and PMR. I didn't have any headaches as I tapered. I just googled whether tapering prednisone can cause headaches, and it said that it could, either because of adrenal insufficiency, blood pressure changes, or a PMR flare. But it also says you should check with your doctor to make sure it isn't GCA. Headaches are a common symptom of GCA.
