Anyone Experience Sweating While Eating?
Lately [the last couple of months] I've noticed that part way through a meal like at lunchtime I start to feel warm and then begin to sweat, mainly around the head and neck. It may last 5-10 minutes before stopping. It doesn't give any advance signals like hypoglycemia does. I don't experience any feelings. I have had many bouts of hypoglycemia and it's nowhere near the same feelings. I don't feel any different after the sweating stops. Not sure that this is the best group, but anyways has anyone else been through something like this. I did switch from taking Losartan to taking Telmisartan for BP control, but not sure how that could be the cause as I take it at bedtime.
Plus this afternoon 07/30/2026, 3-4 hours postprandial I started to get an uninitiated episode of hypoglycemia. I really didn't do any serious activity to bring it on. All I had for lunch was plain oatmeal with whole lactose-free milk. I didn't nip it in the bud, but did catch it early enough. Normally if I wait say 3 hours after eating and then go shopping, the walking around the store is enough to bring it on and I can almost make it happen at will. If I shop right after I eat it usually doesn't happen. I'm not sure if I overproduce insulin or when I do need it there isn't enough blood sugar to counter it.
By uninitiated I mean not enough physical activity/exercise to cause my body to need to metabolize glucose for energy so it just sort of happens and it's sorta rare. Almost idiopathic in a way. I guess it was cream of wheat not oatmeal, but I frequently alternate between them. If I wait several hours after eating to do any walking, etc. I'm almost guaranteed to have a hypoglycemic attack. If I sense it coming on I slam down about 20 grams of glucose.

Hi @bajjerfan I responded to this post in the Digestive Health Group. Let’s see if you get any more input from this group. I’m still thinking of you and your situation (brainstorming). A new idea occurred to me. What about Hypoglycemia (the slightly rare condition that is the opposite of Diabetes)? I don’t just mean a hypoglycemic episode like diabetics sometimes suffer but an ongoing condition. Are you under a physician’s care and when was the last time you saw this provider? If you are due for a check up, you could mention these symptoms at that time.

I will see if the condition persists first. I do have an issue with hypoglycemia which started over 40 years ago. It usually happens 2-3 hours after a meal [doesn't matter what I eat] under certain conditions. Only happened once late in the evening and never when I travel. I've mentioned it, but it seems to bounce off. Nobody seems interested in researching it and they don't know what to do for it except zap it with glucose. My family doc back then called it reactive hypoglycemia.
