Anyway currently my funct goes up and down 40 being the lowest and 82 being the highest they said I have stage 3b kidney disease. Btw it hasn't been 82 until I quit working. 1 Reaction@dethlotus welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Continue the “kidney stone” diet to prevent kidney stones. There are discussions here about kidney stones that might be of interest to you. Reduce salt as much as possible for your high blood pressure. High blood pressure is one of the leading causes of kidney disease. Get a referral to a dietician to learn about cholesterol and fats. There are good fats that increase HDL (the good kind) and bad fats that increase LDL (the bad kind). Saturated and trans fat are examples of bad ones. A dietician can tell you how much protein is appropriate for you to eat, also what type is best. Red meat (beef) is hard on kidneys. Better to stick to poultry and fish / seafood. Eggs, dairy and lean pork are ok once in a while.
