Anyone dealing wih clicking , popping and pain after knee replacement?
Ive read through a ton of discussions and I haven't read any mention of it. I am going on my 2nd year after TKR and its never felt great, and ofcourse you kind of just get used to the discomfort-because the dr says "it all looks fine". They say give it a year to fully heal, but that is not happening for me.

I am 16 months out and my Dr. says all looks well. I finally gave in and did a genicular nerve block to prove it is not a nerve issue, I went to vascular and my veins are all good so I went and saw another person in the same group for a second opinion and he sent me for a bone scan. It shows a photogenic defect from a right total knee replacement and a mild surrounding radio tracer uptake is an expected post-operative finding. It also showed moderate degenerative radioactive tracers around the left knee and it's not really bone on bone but doesn't give me the issues that this right one does. However I have a pulling from below my knee to the top of the knee and what feels like a baker's cyst behind. I also still have the clicking once in a while as well and it never really goes away. I'm waiting to see the Dr. next week to talk about the results. I can't take nsaids either and Tylenol doesn't really help. Heat does but I can't walk around with heat on my leg all day as I'm really active. I hope you are able to find some answers and can get a second opinion. A year didn't happen for me as well and I've done PT 4 times but others have amazing outcomes. Definitely get a second opinion.
I’m 20 months post op LTKR. Clicking and clunking all the time. Occasional pain. Good ROM. Doc says it’s the appliance parts rubbing together as I move my knee. Says don’t worry. This is the result for some patients. Very annoying.
Had both knees done in 2019 and I have some clicking and popping out of joint with the first surgery. However no pain so I can live with that.
Thank you.. I am going to ask for that scan to be done.
I am 16 months out of total left knee replacement but I’m having great discomfort ( not constant and fixed pain but shifting )with knee clicking, slight instability but good ROM dr says can change the polythelene insert for a thicker one but is not ready to do the revision surgery and says to accept it as it is. Got second opinion Dr says can immediately change the insert by one compartment revision and NO physical therapy will be needed. I’m confused what to do as I’m worried my knee will get damaged if this continues. Anyone has had similar experience please advice.
9 months out, not great, clicking, affected ankle & leg, still some pain. I feel like it has affected my whole body.
I'm 15 months out of TKR on my right knee. I've read that the clicking is normal, but it's something I rarely experience -- just a click now and then for no discernible reason. When it was really humid this summer, I seemed to have more stiffness and swelling. I gather that isn't unusual. Now my ROM is as good on the right as on the left. I'd describe the feeling in my knee at this point as tightness, rather than stiffness. I say that because it isn't a restriction or really even discomfort. The feeling is more like something new that hasn't been broken in yet. I keep reading it takes 6-12 months to recover, but I feel I'm still getting stronger and more comfortable with it at 15 months. I think using my recumbent stationary bike at home has helped, and I didn't have the ROM to do that on my home cycle until almost a year out.
