Squirts/dribble/leaks are so annoying but give it a week with the undergarments pads etc and they *should* stop and go away. I still get the occasional dribble but it's nothing. 🙂 I can remember how good that first shower felt right after my Cath came out.

Had my RP two years ago In November. Surgeon walked in and took the catheter out like nothing. They gave me a pad to wear home. I had purchased a number of different leakage products, and am proud to say I never needed them! No dripping, no leakage! My surgeon told me earlier this year that about 10% of RP patients experience zero incontinence. I was one of the lucky ones. Hope you are too! 🤞👍

Before my doctor's assistant removed the catheter, he poured saline solution through the catheter into my bladder until I felt the need to urinate, & then noted how much he poured in. He then removed the catheter in one quick motion, told me to urinate into another measured beaker, & then left the room (for privacy, I guess). I then urinated into the beaker. He came back & noted that what he poured in, came out.

During the same visit, he also removed a drainage tube from my stomach area that was draining fluid from my abdomen. Quite a bit the first couple days after the surgery, but almost nothing by the time of the office followup visit.

Like others here, I had no incontinence.

Oh , so sorry, poor "catheter event" got downgraded in importance due to my "onco blues" episode yesterday and this morning 😋.
Yes - it was as described by others very fast and no pain of any kind, just weird feeling. Nurse was very nice (all nurses so far were top notch - kind, capable, upbeat and helpful 💗 and just great human beings ). He was able to pee in doctor's office to show that nothing is blocking urethra and than he was free to go home. BUT he was so happy to be free of tubing that he insisted on having a stroll in the city, than a lunch, than stop for a decaf cappuccino "just to smell it" he said lol, and than he took 2 sips 🙄. Luckily trusty "Depends" were on - of course a squirt happened with all that commotion 😆 but nothing fazed him, he was so happy to be out and about in his spiffy jeans and all 🥰.
We did not expect full continence on a day one, honestly. As of now it is pretty decent IMHO. He had a nap this afternoon and managed to get up and go to the bathroom with full bladder without leaking, for example, but mini squirts happen if he makes sudden twist or similar. He was instructed to NOT start with Kegel's in the next 3 days since sphincter and urethra need to rest from catheter.
All in all , he is very happy and relaxed and is looking forward to fun days ahead. 🌞

Great news! I sm very hapoy for you. I had zero control for several days post-catheter removal and progress is now slow but steady.

Thank you Jay for telling me this 😃 ! I know that there can be all kind of different ways that incontinence represents itself, so your input and encouragement is highly appreciated 🤗

Thanks Topf for the update 😊 and I am sure that your steady progress will lead you to full continence in couple of months 👍🍀 😃.

5 months out from RP.
Still have a squirt now and then ( sneeze or cough induced, etc.) if I don't keep up with Kegels EVERYDAY!

I have a problem with erections after using leuprolide and enzalutamide. I no longer have an erection at all, although I'm taking Cyfil every day. Is there perhaps a solution for this?

I certainly was for me. Had mine removed Wednesday August 20th. I’m starting to get better control. I don’t think I am going to have major problems
