@ashokediga Hi and welcome to Mayo Connect. As patients and caregivers, we can't say what the best treatment plan is. We are not medical professionals. But, we can share our experiences with our treatment. What treatment options are being presented to you? What monthly injection will you be getting?

@tomrennie Hi ,we have given two choices:
1)Lanreotide ,Octreotide every 3 weeks once
2)total gastrectomy

Based on our financial condition,doctors suggested go with 2nd option

Now I would like to know the life style and complications post total gastrectomy

@ashokediga

We have discussion groups on Mayo Connect where members discuss their lives after a total gastrectomy. Here are links to those discussions:
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/total-gastrectomy/
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/gastrectomie-and-bile-reflux/
I would encourage you to read the posts in these groups. I would also like to invite @lauriejane to this discussion, as she has also mentioned having a total gastrectomy last year.

Regarding the cost of the monthly injections, it might be a good question to ask your doctor. Often, a doctor's office can search out and get help with medications not covered by your health care plan.

How are you feeling?
