Any one experience TSH numbers that more than doubled in six months?

Hello - I am a year and a half post partial thyroidectomy. I have felt awful ever since my surgery - weight gain, exhaustion, muscle aches. I recently had routine blood work and my TSH has more than doubled in six months despite 75 mcg of synthoid. I am feeling more tired and more sore. I have a follow up biopsy next week. I just know the doctor is going to say everything is "normal" according to the numbers. Thoughts? Thank you.

It certainly sounds like you need a higher dose of your Synthroid. However I'm speaking after having a total thyroidectomy, so your Endocrinologist should be able to help you. Good luck. I do know it can take time to get your hormone levels right.

You shouldn't feel that awful. Keep asking for diagnosis and testing. Everyone is different. And your heart and metabolism are major actors along with your thyroid.

@gillsden, what did you find out from the biopsy? How are you doing?

The final result showed follicular variant of papillary carcinoma. I really just do not feel well ever since the surgery. The exhaustion and muscle pain is greatly affecting my life. I saw a new endocrinologist this week and finally I think someone is paying a little more attention. He said he has seen patients where the numbers are all normal, but still benefit from T3. He gave me the option of Armour or Cytomel. I am in the process of researching both, but don't know which way to go. Thank you for the follow up.
