anti-inflammatory medications or supplements

Desperate times call for desperate measures...
I'm looking for recommendations for anti-inflammatories. My PCP and I are willing to consider prescription meds, off-label medication usage and supplements. Any leads you could offer would be appreciated.

I’m ramping up on low dose naltrexone. Can’t say whether it is helping yet or not. I’m also taking NAC, Resveratrol (suggested by a cardiologist who sees long covid patients), NeuronexST (suggested by a rheumatologist https://www.neuronexst.com/), and just started on AdreneVive (suggested by a functional medicine dr https://www.orthomolecularproducts.com/product/adrenevive)

I had been on the road to recovery but I took a much needed and enjoyed trip and I apparently over did it and I’ve set myself back.

All of these supplements take time to get in the system and start to “work” so it’s very difficult to figure out precisely which ones are doing what.

How much NAC and resveratrol are you taking? There's a very wide range, from what I have seen. I'll check out the others, thank you.

Let's remember the science based concept of not changing more than one variable (med or supplement or ??) at a time. If more than one is changed (added, removed, decreased, or increased) there is no basis to say that changing _____________ (fill in the blank with the name of what was changed) caused me to feel better, or worse, or made no change. One item at a time. Sometimes this makes for very slow going, but you will be able to say confidently that when I changed thus-and-so by x-amount, it caused _____________(and you can name your result.) Good luck! Going slow, one at a time will win the race.

I’m planning to try low dose doxycycline. I had a full strength prescription for an infection, and noticed at lot of improvement in several symptoms. The low dose version is below the level that causes bacteria to become resistant, but still has the anti inflammatory effects.

The supplement which I take which has probably helped my brain fog the most is from Ayurvedic medicine, called Shilajit. It is a compound of minerals formed naturally in the Himalayas. Active ingredient is fulvic acid. When I take it I can read. When I stop taking it I have difficulty understanding anything I read beyond a few sentences. Some Shilajit is contaminated with mercury I believe, so you have to choose your source company carefully.

I don't know any supplements off the top of my head to treat inflammation.

One thing I learned a few years ago, and it surprised me, is that sugar causes inflammation in the body. I took an honest look at my diet and had fallen into the bad habit of eating too much sugar, including regular (not diet) soda, including my beloved Coke.

Along with upping my cardio exercise, I cut out almost all refined sugar, including Coke. It's been ten months and I've lost 23 lbs - from 188 to 165 - and this is normal for my height, 5"10". I go to spin class 4 or 5 times a week, and work with weights 3 to 4 days a week.

I'm 69 y/o now and had both knees replaced when I was 67. I have osteoarthritis and am bone on bone in both shoulders and both hips, with a very treatable pain in one shoulder (cortisone).

So to keep inflammation in check, eliminate the causes including a dramatic reduction is the consumption of sugar. Please forgive me if you are already doing this. I'm not being presumptive.
