The cancer is close to the anus. Why can't an injection be given since it is reachable???

Hi @kowalski and @wilcy,

There are a few members who may be able to help answer your questions. I'd like to introduce you to @travelgirl @sbsurfside @susan24 @mom23boys @mouselife.

I also encourage to take a look at the Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Page on Connect where Mayo Clinic colorectal cancer experts have answered some common questions through short videos:

@kowalski @wilcy, are you able to share more details? When were you diagnosed?

@kowalski So sorry for the delayed answer. Although I had Colon cancer I have had issues with anal hemorrhoids and one thing I will say. The anal hemorrhoid surgery was more painful than having Right hemicolectomy surgery.
My anal surgery I needed take major pain killers with Oxycontin. The removal of 12 inches of colon 20 lymph nodes which is called a right hemicolectomy surgery. Over the counter 2 Tylenol alternating, with 2 ibuprofen every 4 hours is all I needed. I believe the doctors told the nerves close to your anal are very sensitive and the threshold of pain being so close to the surface is excruciating.
So that maybe the reason. If that helps.
How are you doing now? do you mind updating us?

I wish you the best
Jackie
