Alternative treatments for shoulder instability?
Looking for ideas and input on alternative treatments for shoulder instability. Two years ago, my daughter fell and broke her collarbone and dislocated her shoulder.- it continued to dislocate or sublux as she went about her daily life. She had surgery to tighten the instability, which went well for about nine months, and then one day shoulder began to dislocate and subluxate when she reaches above her head. The MRI shows what looks like a labral tear. But the surgeon says surgery is not an option because the first one failed, and the labral tear is not significant to the types of dislocation she’s having.
Has anyone had experience with something called a “shoulder pacemaker” electrodes that give neuro feedback to the muscles that aren’t working correctly in her scapula? She tried it in PT last week and it didn’t work for her.
Has anyone had success with either prolotherapy or plasma rich platelet therapy for shoulder instability and or pain? Right now the constant pain is just as worrisome as the shoulder not functioning.
