Alternative incontinence treatments?
I'm about ready to consider alternative approaches to incontinence. RP surgery was 14 weeks ago, and I had had 3+ weeks of physical therapy and a month of Gemtesa. My one added challenge is that there had been some spread to the bladder neck so I'm sure they removed some of that. Still, changing my Depends in the men's room stall at work is getting old. (Age 67, Gleason 9 {4+5}, latest PSA undetectable)

are you interested in a pelvic floor therapist in maryland or urologist?
I've seen a physical therapist weekly for about a month. Whether it's the exercises of the Gemtesa, I am noticing improvement. Of course, the urologist write a Rx for Gemtesa and the good people at United Healthcare denied. Bastards. Something finally works a little and they withdraw it.
Yes, I am not only interested, I am a patient with urinary incontinence, and I really want their treatment and guidance.
I am glad to help

my urologist prescribed Gemtessa and CIGNA paid for it.
How can you tell it is working/helping?
i was also curious when I should stop taking it. It is usually used for overactive bladder but reportedly can help with urgency (not feeling like I need to empty my bladder right after I just did empty my bladder. I am getting better wit this but am no where near resolved/
Has anyone else had experience with Gemtessa like this? If so , when should it be discontinued?
thanks
Ed
Got Gentesa samples and physical therapy. I saw some improvement but the samples have run out at UHC refused the new prescription. Not sure what lies ahead.
Go to the urologist and tell them that you are still having incontinence issues and you need a solution. If they can’t get you Gemtesa can they get you Myrbetriq, Which works pretty much the same.
Interesting link on finding Pelvic PT
Thanks
Anosmic I to got some relief from Gemtesa but my insurance will not pay for any medication for over active bladder not any of them but if you call Gemtesa company I did get it for $95 a month instead of @ $450 a month. Some people can get it free if qualified, sadly I didn’t. I use mybetric for a while with a good discount by calling company again some can get for free, I didn’t qualify but I think it was @ $45 a month with discount from mybeitic. Both medicines helped but not enough, am waiting to try axonics. I am going to update how it goes once I get. I started a discussion group but no one had any comment yet I think it is a newer treatment. I hope you get relief soon.
I am very interested to learn what you learn/ I have used it for a few weeks. I assume it has helped. My copay was $30.00 so I guess I am lucky Could it be that Medicare covers it?
