I did an AI search and found this to give you a start. A DEXA scan will provide you a baseline to work from. If you follow this “more natural” method repeat your DEXA in 2 years and hope your numbers are corrected. But please realize that not providing a solid structure for your bone to regenerate may do more harm than good. Please consult a professional before you choose this route.
AI Overview To rebuild bones naturally and improve bone mineral density, focus on a combination of weight-bearing and resistance exercise, adequate daily intake of calcium and vitamin D, sufficient protein, and healthy lifestyle adjustments. Bones are living tissue that constantly adapt to the physical forces and nutrients provided to them.Bone-Building ExercisesWeight-bearing aerobic moves: Do brisk walking, jogging, dancing, or stair climbing.Resistance training: Lift weights, use resistance bands, or do body-weight exercises like squats and push-ups. Muscle contractions pull on the bone, which triggers new bone tissue growth.Impact activities: Incorporate light jumping, heel drops, or skipping if safe for your joints.Essential NutrientsCalcium: Consume 1,000 mg to 1,200 mg daily from sources like dairy, tofu, canned salmon with bones, almonds, and dark leafy greens.Vitamin D: Get 600 to 800 IU daily through safe sun exposure (10 to 30 minutes), fatty fish (salmon, sardines), or fortified foods to help your body absorb calcium.Protein: Eat enough protein to support the structural matrix of bone and surrounding muscle.Supporting vitamins and minerals: Ensure adequate magnesium, vitamin K, and potassium found in fruits, vegetables, and nuts.Lifestyle Habits to Reduce Bone LossQuit smoking: Tobacco use accelerates bone mineral loss.Limit alcohol: Keep consumption to moderate levels or less.Reduce excess sodium and caffeine: High salt intake and heavy caffeine use can increase calcium excretion. You can review specific nutrition suggestions at the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation.
