Aloe from the plant on Fresh Incisions or Not?

Hi All, I am new here. I just had a lumpectomy. My friend used Aloe from the plant on her incisions. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks to all of you for your stories and moral support!

After my lumpectomy in Nov, I did not apply anything but ice. I would be careful here and ask nurse navigator to check in with surgeon. Sometimes less is more....xoxoxo

I would be concerned about risk of infection on fresh incision. After healed, I think would be helpful. Always check with surgeon first.

Hello @jfhpink I agree with both @semurrey and @mossa I would not put anything on a fresh incision that isn’t sterile and I would definitely talk to my surgeon about when that will be ok.
How are you doing since your lumpectomy? Are you scheduled for other treatments?
