I had a bad cough with a lot of phlegm for quite awhile after surgery. I got relief with the old fashioned remedies (hot tea with honey), warm liquids ( soup), reducing the amount of milk, etc. The issue lasted quite awhile but seemed to get better with all the hot liquids. Good luck!
