Adrenal cortical adenoma

Posted by gastrochic @gastrochic, Nov 16, 2022

I had an adrenalectomy done in January of 2019. With absolutely no help, words, or explanation or could there be a potential for more endocrine tumors? As of late, I am experiencing shortness of breathe, I couldn't even finish the stress test and on the echocardiogram it showed my Thymus was enlarged. I am pressing my Dr to do a CT scan soon I see him Nov 23rd. I called my endocrinologist who I was seeing for my missing adrenal gland and related issues with that, Their office tells me, the Thymus isn't apart of the endocrine system!!! I was in shock. I was also on prednisone for almost 2 years so this could have caused my thymic hyperplasia. Did anyone have this issue at all? How did they check if you have other endocrine tumors?

@gastrochic, I can see you are very worried about thymic hyperplasia and other symptoms, and that you're trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Let me see if I am following your message correctly.

You're concerned because you've been experiencing uncommon symptoms such as shortness of breath. An echocardiogram showed that your thymus is enlarged and you're wondering if they may be connected to adrenal adenoma that you had removed in 2019. The thymus is actually part of the lymphatic system. Your thymus is a small gland in the lymphatic system that makes and trains special white blood cells called T-cells. The T-cells help your immune system fight disease and infection. Many conditions and disorders can affect your thymus gland.

It sounds like you're doing the right thing by investigating further with your doctor later this month. Am I correct that the adrenal adenoma that was removed in 2019 was benign?

@colleenyoung yes you are right. I have no guidance on anything and it's been more then frustrating. They said my adenoma was benign, but I'm super confused because I have a menningioma and a 6mm spot on lower left lung. So I'm definitely a hot mess. I appreciate your response, thank you very much.
