Have you taken ADD medication and Fluoxetine for OCD and anxiety?
My adult son is on the ASD spectrum and has been taking Fluoxetine for a few years. It made a huge difference to his OCD tendencies and anxiety. He has recently been diagnosed with ADHD/ADD and is being medicated with a stimulant medication which is helping him at work. He dropped the Fluoxetine, fearing Serotonin issues but has now reverted to a state of heightened anxiety and OCD. Does anyone have experience with taking both medications together?

Same happened to me with a stimulant. But also with the fluoxitine.

1 ReactionI have ADHD and autism, and my psychiatrist is having me try being on a stimulant (very small dose of adderall) and also fluoxetine. I just started this and I can update you later, but of course everyone is different. It’s been huge for me to have a doctor/psychiatrist who I trust, who really listens to me and understands ADHD autism,
This is just me - when I can have a comfortable, low demand day when I move at my own pace, I do better without the adderall. I am able to focus and get things done. The adderall helps me power through days with a lot of social demands and stimulus, but in can also heighten my anxiety. Honestly I think much of my “distractibility” at work is attempting to self-soothe and regulate in an overwhelming environment. The AuDHD diagnosis is confusing to me. I feel like I’m mainly autistic but then ADHD kicks in if I’m overwhelmed by social stuff, sensory stuff, exhaustion from masking.
