Abdominal distended

Posted by snikkis1 @snikkis1, Sep 23, 2023

Having trouble with bowel movements, going only once per week with severe abdominal distended.
Have been on senator, ducalox & others.
Have Gerd and erosion gastritis. Normal abdominal CT scan & Bloodwork. Eat properly, I'm 59 yes old due for my coloniscopy next year.
Had a TBI in 3/3/22 and have Lupus ,RA,osteoporosis, Graves, CIDP.
Any answers, greatly appreciated.

That is definitely something to bring up with your physician. They may even be able to move the colonoscopy up to get you in sooner.

Have you gone to drugs.com or other sites to see if constipation may be a side effect of any medications you are taking?

What do you mean by "eat properly", and how long have you had this problem?

The abdominal distention and no bowel movements, approx. 1 per week since my TBI 3/3/22

Is TBI traumatic brain injury?

This may not be related to the TBI. Has your doctor ordered a gastric emptying study? Bloating and constipation can be signs of gastroparesis.

@susanh824, not sure if you remember me about my distended abdomen and my flank muscle Well anyway last 16 months I been to every GI specialist to Professor and had every test that actually I can not get any more testing with contrast, way to much in my body. Well finally I get stomach emptying in July my numbers were so bad and my GI Disease Prof we argued bc if you don’t advocate for yourself that’s so important and he gave me options and I said Doc ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPENING I SAID RELEASE ME AS A PATIENT AND I WANT WHAT I WANT THIS IS MY LIFE SO I WAS ALWAYS RESEARCHING FOR ANSWERS BC 16 MONTHS NO ONE GAVE ME ANY AND I just returned from Atlanta seen a surgeon who preforms G-Poem surgery, JOHN HOPKINS ALSO DO IT BUT BOOKED TILL 2024 AND I AM OVER THIS ENTIRE MEDICAL SYSTEM IN USA, MY SURGEON I FOUND IN ATLANTA DID BIOPSYS FROM ESOPHAGUS TO SMALL INTESTINE I HAVE GASTROPARISIS SO BAD MY # was 286 after 5 hours I still had 20% food in my stomach. WELL HAD ENDOSCOPE ALL BIOPSYS AND IM A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR G-POEM ITS DONE ROBOTICALLY NO CUTING NO SCARS DOWN YOUR THROAT AND MY DOC/ SURG PERFORMS ABOUT 10-15 a day, it’s only a year old in United States an my doc is one of 124 Surgeons who performs it. I am 58 I refused pacemaker, Botox shot, Medication bc I became severely ill horrific side effects I said NO SHOT ! SO I BEEN IN MALNUTRITION SINCE 10 Months now plus fluid was given meds to help with fluid but bc malnutrition the fluid is not water they call it putty fluid bc it comes from no protein, no solid food my entire being with this Idiopathic Gastroparisis took my life and totally debilitating me I have a nurse an family helps me and doc in Atlanta said my esophagus and windpipe are so closed they are size of the top of straw, I live in Philadelphia and not one specialist even Gastro docs actually said we don’t know why this happens an just go buy bigger clothes, or they blame my son’s suicide and trust me I jump off table and I get in their face and even Atlanta doc
I said YOU HAVE ALL MY RECORDS UR GONNA SEE AN READ MY REACTIONS BUT IM A SOUTH PHILADELPHIA ITALIAN MOTHER AND DO NOT PLAY THE DEATH CARD OF MY SON AND YES I WILL COME AT YOUR FACE.
Anyway I get my call on Sept 29th@ 8:30 telehealth zoom call and set my surgery date. If I didn’t educate myself on this non curable disease but G-Poem surgery recovery from it including symptoms in two weeks your 95% cure or over 100% I’ll take it.

@phillybomber thank you! I had never heard of this procedure and just looked it up! Definitely bringing this up with a gastroenterologist as I have suffered gastro paresis for years and only given medication for it which I eventually stopped taking because it caused other problems!
