Music can be a mood changer and sharing a lyric might bring a laugh, a great memory, or just wax nostalgic!

Pick a line or two from your favorite new or old song!
I’m humming already . . .

Song - The Rain Song
….These are the seasons of emotion
And like the wind, they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch we all must hold
This is the mystery of the quotient…
Upon us all, upon us all, a little rain must fall….

If only I could have a puppy
I’d call myself so very lucky
Just to have some company
And share a cup of tea with me!
I’d take my puppy everywhere
La-la-la-la I wouldn’t care
We’d stay away from crowds
And signs that say “NO DOGS ALLOWED!!!”
Oh Weeee!
I know he’d never bite meee…
We’d be so happy to be
Together.

My first concert!

One of my favorite concerts! But even better was years later when I was doing dishes and heard Personal Jesus blaring out from my 12 yo daughter’s room. I dared not to make a peep that DM was/is my all time greatest soul comfort foods.

and then Just a few minutes later in 1993….

After seven days He was quite tired, so God said
"Let there be a day
Just for picnics with wine and bread."
He gathered up some people He had made
Created blankets, and laid back in the shade
God shuffled his feet
And glanced around at them
The people cleared their throats
And stared right back at Him
The people sat waiting
Out on their blankets in the garden
But God said nothing
So someone asked Him
"I beg your pardon
I'm not quite clear about what you just spoke
Was that a parable, or a very subtle joke?"

Also, from the Smiths, “How is now?” I had to edit this-

There’s a club and you’ve got to go.
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own.. and you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry and you want to die

Hope no one is offended by that.
I tend to like morose/funny lyrics

There is comfort in hearing out-loud the voice we’ve known all along, long before we’ve been able to understand the song.

Yes it’s a fine line, isn’t it? I have a 13 year old and she says I “ruin” her songs when I give any indication of liking/knowing them 🤣

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark.

At the end of a storm
There’s a golden light
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
