A Downside to Tapering Prednisone - Mosquito Bites

Posted by jeff97 @jeff97, 9 hours ago

I live in the central part of North Carolina, so there are lots of mosquitoes during much of the year. Last year when I was at or above 40 mg per day of prednisone for most of the summer and fall, I noticed that I never got bit by mosquitoes. Normally they really like me. This year they continued to leave me alone until I tapered to 2 mg per day a month ago. Now I'm back to several bites per day. It's unpleasant, but still better than prednisone!

Of course it might be possible that they were biting me, but my body didn't react to the bites due to the prednisone.

Has anyone else noticed that side effect of prednisone?
