I've had a sinus infection for one year now.
At first, I couldn't breathe out my nose laying down completely. I got it fixed with amoxcillin and it helped, but it came back over a few weeks.
However, when it came back, it is to this day, more mild compared to the first time. My only symptom is really only congestion, and augmentin didn't work for it. I got a CT scan and they said there was evidence for a sinus infection, but I don't know. Hot showers don't work, nothing works, and sprays only make me more congested. What could it be??

I had a similar issue for 4 months and kept pushing for an answer. Three rounds of antibiotics didn’t touch it, steroids didn’t help much either. A CT scan confirmed chronic sinusitis as well as a tooth root infection. I had functional endoscopic sinus surgery and a root canal. Now all is well. If they aren’t helping you, find another ENT. My first primary care doctor took a wait and see approach, but in his absence, another Dr. ordered the CT.
