57 yr old male, heart attack RCE (only blood), in ICU

Hi, my husband is a 57-year-old male who had a heart attack on November 15

He had a Clot Buster on that Saturday night with a heart cat another heart Cath on Sunday another one on Monday Tuesday he had the day off of it and Wednesday he had his last one for his first heart attack

He developed arrhythmia 48 hours, which is pretty typical so they did all the necessary tests and we were allowed to go home the Tuesday before Thanksgiving

24 hours later, my husband’s having a heart attack at 1 o’clock in the afternoon this is the day before Thanksgiving and he is rushed to the ICU

We get there and they spend three hours sucking out clots. He has a weird situation because his diameter of his vessels is 8 to 10 mm versus the 3 mm of a normal person.

The clot is the exact same place. It’s the bottom right part of the heart.

When we left on that Tuesday, he had 80% of the vessel clear

After the second heart attack and heart Cath that evening, my husband’s bloodwork went from 416 platelets down to four in just a number of hours they didn’t believe his blood count so they did it again and at this time it was down to zero platelets

They immediately gave him a platelet infusion, but it didn’t help him because he had heparin that was still in his system. They did an anti-heparin drug and he was intubated put in a paralytic state.

We found out he had a brain bleed the doctors are pretty puzzled about this one because my husband’s blood just started to do this

It basically just clot clot clots until it can’t clot anymore and then it starts hemorrhaging

Does anybody have any advice or have they ever seen anything like this before?

The doctor sent out my husband‘s blood to check for some blood disorders

Some doctors think it’s the HIT – M and one doctor thinks it’s ITP. The HITG test came back negative.

He was fine, no weird bloodwork or anything and then out of the blue had a heart attack on November 15

Was home 24 hours and was admitted into ICU the day before Thanksgiving

Currently, he is not on any of the EEG machines. His MRI today showed a minuscule pool of blood in his skull.

Monday he had one and the MRI came back that showed that there was blood, but they didn’t look to be any damage

He is beating treated for the brain bleed first

He has pneumonia and they have him on antibiotics and steroids

My daughter and I were talking about it and we’re just a little concerned that he’s been off blood clotting medicine for nine days

Any advice that you have would be appreciated

Thank you for reading my post. I hope that we can find something that makes some sense.

@juliannewyatt76, you must be worried, exhausted and scared. How is your husband doing? How are you and your daughter doing?

I have thrombocytopenia, I bleed easily and have very low platelet count. I've had two brain bleeds, the most recent one from a fall in August (3 days in hospital). My first bleed was worse and we never did figure out the cause, I was in the icu for six days after they drilled a bore hole in my skull to drain the blood. I'm male age 78, and have recovered well from both of them. He'll be fine.
