39 year old brother
Hi all.
My brother has just turned 39 years old and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer a few days ago. He has been given 3-6 months to live. The cancer is 5cm in the head of his pancreas, and has also metastasised to his liver I believe as well as several peritoneal lymph nodes - although the medical team are not sure about the lymph nodes at the moment. (this is a medical negligence case which we will be dealing with separately)
This was a huge shock for us and we are completely devastated. He has a 5 month old and 5 year old too.
He has received no treatment thus far. His cytology report was inconclusive and he therefore had a liver biopsy to determine the tumour type. We will then look to start chemotherapy asap. He also has a PET-CT scan scheduled for next week. We've also looked into and started some alternative therapies too.
We are feeling so lost. I wanted to know if anyone please please has any advice regarding next steps/what we can do to fight this? We are more than happy to pay/go private/go abroad if this will help. We are based in the UK.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.

I will pray for you and your brother. We can get him a second opinion with Dr. Evens of Medicine College of Wi on zoom. Seena Magowitz Foundation only helps pancreases patience no other cancers. Please contact Miranda on there web site. Michael Francis
I am so sorry and understand the shock and confusion for all of you. My brother’s wife, my sister in law who I loved so dearly was diagnosed on her birthday week just turned 40, a time we were supposed to celebrate got the shocking news. Her diagnosis was also at stage 4 metastasis to her liver no chance of surgery due to tumour location. She went through chemotherapy which shrunk the tumour down but was on morphine all the time for serious pain. When she finished her chemotherapy she had a couple of good months but then water in her lungs and legs called aschites also new nodules rapidly grew in her stomach.
I pray your brother gets other choices and referrals to other doctors. My sister in law was declined saying that because she was so advanced they cannot release her to see other doctors for second opinion ( here in Canada) was in operable.
Time is very important she also was in so much pain could not travel. She was determined to fight and did right to the end was one year later she passed on, left behind 2 small children.
I pray for your brother and all of you I understand the pain you feel and want to help as much as possible. 🙏♥️

Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear of this very sad situation for your brother. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. I hope he gets the help that he needs and soon. One thing we can all do is pray and pray hard. God is there for your brother. God made him and God can fix him. You don't have to go to church to find God; although that can be very nice. All you have to really do is ask for God's help and you will get it.
My husband recently died in July of stage 4 lung cancer. We said a lot of prayers and my husband lived with stage 4 lung cancer for 14 years! So, keep praying and having faith. Miracles still happen today and not just on Easter. I will say a prayer for your brother also.
I wish you all the best.

Get a second opinion quickly. Don't wait. Doctor gave my husband 12 months in Feb 24. My husband is still alive and well and prognosis has changed.
They gave me 11 months June 2022. I am still here! I have stage 4 but in the tail with mets to my lungs. I have had a total of 67 chemo treatments and plan to keep on going as long as I can. My oncologist used Abraxane & Gemczar 2on & 1 off then switched to one on, one off. I did get a 4 month "break" but my CA 19-9 went up so I had to restart the chemo. Also, when people want to help, tell them you want prayers! I truly believe they work! (I am 75)
