29 Years old; Trouble urinating sometimes when waking up to do so

Posted by djenglish94 @djenglish94, Mar 12, 2023

Sometimes, when I wake up to urinate at say 2AM, I have to really fight it, though not always. During the day I urinate just fine. Looking up what might cause this has caused me immense stress. I am relatively healthy weight though I do work a very sedentary job. I ride my bike to work, and the only medications I take are melatonin and a vitamin. I do not smoke, and I only drink alcohol on occasion.

Get a blood test that includes your PSA and talk to your doctor.

@djenglish94 , I'll second what @bens1 has offered here. Don't let yourself stress about it, get an answer.

Blood test that includes PSA. There's a possibility that you might have prostatitis which could resolve itself or could be from an infection, but, you need to find out.

Hi. Agree with above. Your PCD will set you up with a urologist. Best of luck. Don't procrastinate.

I can only agree with all the above. We tend to google these things hoping to find an answer and the reason for the problem... but please, don't leave it for later, your health and peace of mind are top priority. All the best.

At your age very doubtful you have anything serious. See your Doctor and get piece of mind.
