1st consult with a GI dr recently after 3 cases of colon infections
Hello everyone. After seeing a GI dr for the 1st time Im unsure what to think. He looked at my 3 cases and said 2 were definite acute diverticulitis but 3rd was not confirmed. It said focal colitis on report. Im 54 and had a colonoscopy last June. He was very nice and said not to worry and to eat whatever because whether i eat seeds, nuts, raw fruits, etc or not will make no difference. He said if I have issues in the future may need a colectomy? My infections happened April 2024, December 2024, then February 2025. Im so worried this will happen again. Every time i get a sharp pain I freak out.
