17 year old son with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma
My son was just diagnosed yesterday with Stage 4 Hodgkins and it’s terrifying. Anyone else have a child diagnosed?

Welcome to Mayo Connect, @msdxwilson1. This has to be a mother’s worst nightmare, finding out your child has cancer.
I know you want to learn everything you can about this blood cancer.
Hodgkin’s lymphoma is staged as to the degree of the disease. Your son has stage 4, meaning it has spread to some lymph nodes and possibly other organs in his body. This is a little more difficult to treat however there are huge advances with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It has become one of the more treatable blood cancers. So that is an encouraging thought to keep in mind.
I’m posting a couple links to sites that can provide you with greater detail on his disease and treatments dependent on the diagnoses he’s received. I know he has stage 4 but there are other aspects to his disease that can alter the type of treatment.

After you’ve read through this information, it might help you narrow down more specific questions. Let’s talk some more. I’m here for you any time! I survived a very aggressive form of leukemia so I’m familiar with much of what your son is going through. Different treatment but the goal is the same.
Has his doctor mention treatments such as chemotherapy or targeted immune therapy?
@msdxwilson1, I'd like to introduce you to @bkayk, who also recently joined Mayo Clinic Connect. Her son was 17 when he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2022. You can read more about both of them here:

I know it's not the same cancer as your son, but as moms, I thought you might like to connect.
How are you doing?
