Issues after TURBT (female): Urgent urinary incontinence? Blood?
Had Turbt surgery 3 weeks ago. Problem now after 10 days of catheter removal I have urgent urinary incontinence. Going through many men size incontinence pads (I am female) how can you drink water to flush bladder if always having pressure?

Has anyone seen blood in their urine 28 days post TURBT surgery? It happened only once and it was very small amount but alarming to me. I have been urinating frequently day and night, never make it to bathroom on time. My stomach feels tender and slightly bloated. I was diagnosed non invasive T1 bladder cancer, my 2nd TURBT Is March 10. Any ideas? I left a message to my urologist today.
I had TURBT for Ta non-invasive in September 2025 and have had the 6-week GemDoce treatment, which finished December 9. I still have occasional hematuria, but after my 3-month follow-up a couple of weeks ago, my doc said I am clear and in remission. I had the first GemDoce maintenance treatment on Friday. I rode my bike 24 miles yesterday and had several episodes of hematuria later, but it's cleared up this morning. When I mention blood in my urine, I'm told to drink more water. I guess Eliquis doesn't help. The doc and nurses don't seem concerned, so neither am I:-)
@gemdoc25 My husband experienced some blood in urine after cycling also during the treatment months. Urologists felt it was biking trauma plus Eliquis, not a recurrence.
@rafcer, have you heard back from your urologist?
@colleenyoung Dr wasn’t concerned, possibly a scab loosing. I had a few tumors, one was large 6cm. He also told me to drink water to keep flushing bladder. Another possible reason he wasn’t concerned because I’m having second TURBT March 10th ? ?
He put me on Detrol for my newly acquired overactive bladder after surgery.
@rafcer, I hope the TURBT went as expected and you're recovering well.
I’m feeling down today after my 2nd TURBT, Dr found more high grade urothelial carcinoma (3x5x3x0.4) Smaller than Jan 27 (6cm) but I was hoping for none. I’m having more discomfort than first surgery. I don’t think I fully healed from first. Only med I’m on is Pyridium. Urination is frequent, spending $$$$ on depends and incontinence pads. Called Dr today for something for pain. My next appt is 3/20 to discuss surgery and options. I’m a 82 female.

1 ReactionHad first TURBT in Jan 2023. Easy recovery. 4 sessions of BCG. . Thought I had made my 2 years clear. Not to be. Another tumor removed on Dec 16th past. Been bleeding ever since, sometimes pink sometimes pale red. Doc, thru nurse, is not concerned but I am. Due for BCG rounds again next week. If bleeding I think having bacteria introduced is asking for problems?
