I sent my friend in Texas that Drs info you went to . She lives in Belton , Texas.
What a coincidence.. she has had an appt w/ that Dr. Coming up in Jun (had to wait 6 months to get in )! He must be very good . I googled him and sent her that info . It’s so weird that she is going there too . I guess if you’re in Texas , he’s the guy to see .

I have had excessive belching for about 5 yrs now. It's not always to the same degree though. I was pretty good all summer but now it has flared up again were I am belching approx 200 times a day. It seems to be better when lying down but as soon as I get up I belch. Any suggestions on what is wrong exactly

I had a hiatal hernia (large!) corrected by surgery and it stopped all belching, pain, and inability to eat certain foods.
There are many causes so diagnosis is important.

I am very similar , 6 years , many tests , nothing shows up , restrictions of many foods , burping every few seconds at times , laying down on my back with legs at 90 deg angle up a wall and breathing into diaphragm, is the only thing i have found that helps also …

I started with a cough about 4 months ago nose running etc. I thought I just had seasonal allergies I got a nasal spray from my doctor and went on my merry way I then caught Covid and was extremely sick for 2 weeks since then I’ve been living a nightmare. I’ve had bouts of coughing so bad I would lose my breath I went back to my doctor and was told nothing could be done it was viral I suffered for 2 more months and started burping a lot. Still had nose running and bouts of coughing I haven’t slept much these past few months I also take valsartin for high blood pressure. I started taking an inhaler which did nothing took steroids as well nothing still had the same symptoms next I started taking gas x and then Pepcid nothing helped it came to a point I had a tightness in my chest and my pressure skyrocketed I went to emergency they tested me found out my heart was fine told them my symptoms they gave me propantizole I took it for 5 days was great my coughing even got better on the sixth day the bitter taste came it’s so bad that I cannot sleep or eat I’m so exhausted I don’t know what to do they switched my meds twice but like the first drug they give a horrible taste in my mouth I’m at my wits end I’m suffering to a point now that I’m ready to just quit living I’m 66 and tired, depressed and angry I just don’t know what to do

Excessive burping could be a sign of SIBO. You should go see your GI doctor and ask about testing. It needs to be treated with antibiotics.

As @christyann715, seeing a GI specialist might be a good next step. GI issues post COVID are not uncommon.

Bitter taste could be acid reflux but some of your symptoms remind me of mine..in my case it was my esophagus..

And did you find a cure for your issue?

REPLY

They dilated my esophagus that fixed the problem.
